HEAD MEASUREMENTS


1. Straight Line Head Measurement

2. Head Circumference Measurement (For Regular and Long Snout Breeds)

  • Measure OVER the MIDDLE of the Ear snug. Ears MUST lay flat against the skull to measure. Then down and around behind the jaw, back up to over the middle of the (flat against the skull) other ear to complete the circle. (See pictures below)
NOTE:  It is best to use a soft tape measure for this measurement. If you do not have one, use a string to ensure you get it flat over the ears around the pet's head. Then put the string to a ruler or regular tape measure to determine the circumference.

(Even though the examples shown below are "Short Snout" dog breeds, we still need the same measurement for your Regular or Long Snout dog!)
